The line on each card is the transcribed opening, verbatim, except where it is marked as an opening shot.

The same house, two hooks, ten times apart

Christian LeBlanc built a house in Bali and has posted about it more than once. Over the last 12 months, I have been building my dream home here in Bali, Indonesia did 4.9 million views in 2023. I spent the last four years building my dream home here in Bali, Indonesia did 473,000 in 2026.

Nearly the same sentence, the same house, a ten times gap. The tense is the difference. The first is in progress, twelve months and counting, and the viewer is being invited into something unfinished. The second is a summary of something completed four years ago.

Unfinished is the more interesting state. A project in progress has an outcome the viewer does not know yet, and a finished one has a result they can see in the first frame. The third Bali Reel confirms it from the other direction: welcome to The Lost Villa, my home in the jungle is a completed tour and did 969,000.

The Africa pair repeats the pattern inside two days. My best friend and I are about to drive motorbikes across Africa from coast to coast, posted 6 August, did 233,000. A POV of the two of them resting mid-ride, posted 8 August, did 561,000 in ten seconds. The announcement underperformed the moment from inside the thing.

So the account is telling you the same thing twice: in progress beats announced, and in progress beats completed. The ten-second POV from the middle of Africa did more than twice the careful setup of the trip two days earlier, and the twelve-months-and-building Reel did ten times the four-years-and-done version of itself.

What you can copy

  • Post from inside the project, not after it. The same house described as in progress did ten times the same house described as finished.
  • Put the clock in the hook. Twelve months is what makes it a story rather than a reveal.
  • Skip the announcement. The ten-second moment from the middle of the trip beat the careful setup posted two days earlier.

Questions people ask

How many followers does Christian LeBlanc have on Instagram?

715,540, read from the profile on 22 October 2026.

What is the most viewed Reel here?

The in-progress Bali build, at 4,874,261 views, posted 5 September 2023.

Between 10 and 91 seconds, median 70. The ten-second one is a POV from inside a trip and did 561,000 views.

Does in-progress really beat finished?

Twice in this set. The same Bali house did 4.9 million as a build in progress and 473,000 as a four-year summary, and a mid-trip POV beat the trip announcement posted two days before it.

How were these numbers measured?

Scrptly pulled the account's recent posts and analysed the 5 best-performing Reels. The follower count and every view count is the figure recorded on 22 October 2026. Figures are read once per reel, deduplicated so a reel analysed more than once is counted once, and each Reel links out.
