Mari Maria's Instagram Reels, broken down

Five Reels, 15.5 million views, and three of them are her doing product research in public.

What this is

Mari Maria has 20,723,401 followers on Instagram, read from the profile on 25 September 2026. She is thirty third on our list of the biggest Instagram accounts belonging to creators rather than celebrities, athletes or brands. Scrptly analysed her five best-performing Reels.

Five Reels. 15,522,976 views between them. Posted between 27 August and 22 September 2026, so this is a snapshot of one month rather than a career.

Each line is the transcribed audio from the opening seconds. Most are in Portuguese and the lines are left exactly as spoken.

She runs product research as content

Her second and third best Reels are the same idea: products she nearly launched, shown to the audience, asking which ones they want. Posted five days apart, the first did 3,498,849 views and the follow-up did 2,729,528.

This is a different use of a Reel from most of the accounts on this site. It is not reach for its own sake. It is a beauty brand owner using 20 million followers as a research panel, and the video is the survey.

The follow-up doing 78 percent of the original is the number worth noting. A second part usually falls much further than that.

Her biggest is the one with no Portuguese in it

The top Reel opens on an English lyric over a colour-matched unboxing, and it did 5,227,330 views. It is also the only one of the five that needs no translation to follow. The four below it are in Portuguese and sit between 2.0 and 3.5 million.

That is worth being careful with. It is one data point, not a rule, and the Portuguese ones are doing a different job.

The five are long

They run 28, 59, 60, 44 and 8 seconds, so 3 minutes 20 seconds in total. Two of them are essentially a full minute, and both are the product research ones. If you are asking people to choose between things, you have to show them the things.

The hooks she uses

Hook patternWhat it doesFrom which Reel
Show the thing, no explanationA colour-matched unboxing with a lyric over it. The object is the hook and nobody narrates it.Her best performer, 5.2M views.
Offer something nobody else has seenProducts that were never released. The viewer is being let in, and being asked, which is a reason to stay and a reason to comment. The two research Reels, 3.5M and 2.7M views.
State what you stand forA manifesto opening tells the audience the video has a position. Agreement and disagreement both count as engagement. The brand manifesto, 2.1M views.

What you can copy

  • Ask the audience to decide something real. Not a poll for its own sake, an actual decision you have not made yet.
  • Run the second part. Hers held 78 percent of the first, which is far better than most follow-ups manage.
  • Show the object in the first frame if the object is the point. Her biggest Reel has no explanation in it at all.
  • A position beats a description. The manifesto outperformed the lifestyle clip below it.
