Metricool is a social media management tool. Scrptly is not one, and that matters before you switch

The honest version first

Metricool is a social media management tool and it does a great deal that Scrptly does not: scheduling across every major network, unlimited analytics history, competitor tracking on up to 100 profiles, PDF and PowerPoint reports, a Looker Studio connector, team roles and an approval system. If you are running several brands and need one place to publish and report, Metricool is built for exactly that and Scrptly is not a replacement for any of it. Scrptly does one thing: it takes Reels that already performed, breaks them down beat by beat, and tells you what to say in the next one. The two overlap only in that both show you numbers, and even there they are pointed in opposite directions. Metricool measures your accounts. Scrptly measures other people's Reels.

Side by side

Metricool publishes in euros and dollars side by side and prices by number of connected brands, so its plans are shown as the ranges its own page shows rather than a single figure. Scrptly prices in US dollars and shows the monthly equivalent of annual billing. Both pages were read on 23 September 2026. Tiered pricing moves, so the date matters more than the number.

What it actually doesPlans, schedules and publishes to your connected channels, then reports on how they didAnalyses Reels that already performed and returns the hook, the beat-by-beat structure and a repeatable template. Publishes nothing
Free tier1 brand, up to 20 posts a month, 30 days of analytics history, competitor analysis on 5 profiles, 5 AI credits a month2 analyses for the lifetime of the account, 2 script evaluations, full Reel breakdowns and hook analysis. No card required
Entry paid tierStarter, from 16 to 29 euros a month depending on how many brands you connect, covering 5 to 10 brands. Unlimited posting under a fair use policy, unlimited analytics history, 20 AI creditsStarter, $15 a month billed annually at $180. 10 analyses and 3 idea generations a month, unlimited script evaluations
Higher tierAdvanced, from 43 to 130 euros a month for 15 to 50 brands. Team and role management, approval system, Looker Studio connector, API access, 35 AI creditsGrowth at $31 a month or Pro at $79 a month, billed annually. Up to 150 analyses a month and bulk creator analysis on Pro
Scheduling and publishingYes, and it is the core of the product, across every major networkNo. Not on any plan. Scrptly has no connection to your accounts and cannot post
Competitor analysisTracks up to 100 competitor profiles and reports their public metrics next to yoursTakes one Reel apart: the transcript, the hook, the shot order and the pacing. It is depth on a single video rather than breadth across accounts
ReportingPDF and PowerPoint reports, customisable templates, campaign dashboards, white label on the custom planNo reports, no dashboards, no exports for a client. It is a research tool, not a reporting layer
Who should not switchAnyone managing more than one brand, or anyone who has to show a client a report. Scrptly cannot do eitherAnyone whose posting is already handled and whose Reels still sit at their follower count

What the search data says

There is a reason a reporting tool cannot close this gap, and it shows up when you sort Reels by how their opening line is built. Across 2,078 Reels, the grammatical shape of the first line barely moves reach: openings built around this or here reach a median of 0.52 times their follower count, question openings reach 0.42, and openings that address the viewer as you reach 0.34. That is the whole spread. On the same corpus, the measured quality of the hook separates 0.35 from 1.37, about four times. So the thing that moves a Reel is not a format you can read off a dashboard. It is whether the first few seconds give a stranger a reason to stay, which is a judgement about content and not a metric any analytics product reports.

If your reporting already tells you which Reels underperformed and you still do not know why, more reporting is not the missing piece. Metricool will tell you the what precisely. It is not built to tell you the why.

Sample of 2,078 keywords, measured on 2026-09-23. Scrptly production database, queried 2026-09-23. 2,078 Reels deduplicated by shortcode, each with a view count, its account's follower count and a hook line beginning with a letter..

What an analysis actually returns

Eight opening lines taken from reels in our own analysis database on 16 September 2026, with the views each one earned. A clipping tool does not produce this, because it is pointed at your footage rather than at a reel that already worked.

Which one to open first

  1. Count your brands. At one brand Metricool's free tier covers you and costs nothing. At five or more, its Starter tier is the cheapest way to hold the whole thing together and nothing on this page argues otherwise.
  2. If you need to hand a client a PDF, Scrptly cannot produce one. That alone settles it for agency work.
  3. If publishing and reporting are already solved and the Reels themselves are the problem, that is the gap this page is about.
  4. Both are free to try. Metricool's free plan gives you one brand and 20 posts a month. Scrptly gives two analyses with no card.
  5. Read the six openings above as outliers rather than as a target. They were picked for travelling furthest beyond their own account size, so they are the far tail. What is worth copying is that each is a complete thought in under twelve words.
