Vizard clips the video you already made. Scrptly tells you what to make next.

The honest version first

The honest starting point is that these two tools are answers to different questions. Vizard is a clipper. You give it a long video you already recorded, and it cuts short vertical clips out of it, adds subtitles and reframes the shot. Scrptly never touches your footage. It takes a reel that somebody else already published, breaks it down beat by beat, scores the hook and the retention shape, and writes you a script built on the framework it found. If you have a two hour podcast sitting on a drive and you need forty clips out of it by Friday, Vizard is the right tool and this page will not talk you out of it. If you have nothing recorded yet and you do not know what to say, a clipper has nothing to cut.

Vizard figures were read from vizard.ai/pricing on 2026-09-16 with the yearly toggle shown at its advertised 50 percent discount. Scrptly figures were read from scrptly.io/pricing on the same day. Both sites price in US dollars. Discounts change, so the date matters more than the number.

What the search data says

Our own database held 3,056 analysed Instagram reels on 2026-09-16, from 771 completed creator analyses across 475 distinct handles. Every one of those reels carries a hook score, a retention score and a timestamped transcript, because that is what an analysis produces. A clipping tool produces none of those, for the simple reason that it is pointed at your footage rather than at a reel that already worked.

This is the difference that survives a price comparison. Both tools cost about the same at the entry tier. Only one of them can tell you what the reel you are about to copy actually did.

What an analysis actually returns

Eight opening lines taken from reels in our own analysis database on 16 September 2026, with the views each one earned. A clipping tool does not produce this, because it is pointed at your footage rather than at a reel that already worked.

Which one to open first

  1. If the job is cutting footage you already have, use Vizard. Its free plan gives you 60 minutes of video a month and you will know within one upload whether the clips are usable.
  2. If the job is deciding what to film, run two analyses on Scrptly for free and read the hook score and the structure breakdown before you write anything. Two is enough to see whether the breakdown tells you something you did not already know.
  3. If you are doing both, note that they do not overlap. A clipper and an analyser can sit side by side without either replacing the other, and nothing here argues that you should cancel one to pay for the other.
